Personal Growth & Development

While counselling and psychotherapy are typically accessed when someone experiences a specific issue or difficulty, it is not uncommon for clients to learn and discover things about themselves in ways that they never expected.

When we delve underneath the surface level issues, we often start to uncover patterns in ways of behaving and relating to others, as well as previously subconscious core beliefs about self, others and the world we inhabit.

Increasing self-awareness in these areas, whilst simultaneously developing self-compassion, can help people to shift from a reactive way of being, to a more responsive way of interacting with the world and with themselves. Developing a curiosity about the way we interact with ourselves and the world around us, as well as exploring our values and beliefs, can result in significant personal growth and profound change.

I really enjoy walking alongside clients on this kind of personal journey, and welcome you to get in touch if you would like to explore working together in this way. I have an abundance of resources and creative techniques to facilitate this type of self-discovery work, which I would be very happy to share with you.

I also really enjoy working with trainee psychotherapists, who are often required to complete a large number of personal therapy hours as part of their extensive training. This type of long-term, in-depth psychotherapy can have such a profound effect on both a personal and professional level, and is a very fulfilling part of the work that I do.
